How a piece of writing gets better

Every week follows the same loop. The writing changes hands four times before it reaches you.

1. 01

   Your child writes first

   A short reading, then sentence practice, then their own writing. Nothing is multiple choice when the goal is writing.

   Join the two sentences with although:

   It was raining. We played outside.

   Although it was raining, we played outside.

2. 02

   The teacher marks what matters

   Two or three specific notes, each tied to the exact words. Not a page of red ink, and never a rewrite done for them.

   1. 1“Very beautiful” tells me. What did you actually see?
   2. 2Many animals: was or were?

3. 03

   Your child revises it

   The corrected version goes back in. Both drafts are kept, so improvement is something you can read, not a score.

   Before

   There was many animals and I was very happy.

   After

   There were birds everywhere. I couldn’t stop smiling.

4. 04

   You see the evidence

   A short report in English or 繁體中文: what improved, the sentences that show it, and what comes next.
